Looking for a classy hen's party? We can help!

We offer a fun and unique experience that will leave your soon to be bride full of smiles and and inspiration! There is absolutely no painting experience or any artistic abilities required to complete the painting as that is what we are here for! Our favourite kind are those with 'no artistic talent' or who 'can't or don't paint' as it's all about the making memories and having FUN!

How it works:

PICK A TIME & DATE FOR EVENT: check our online monthly calendar for availability
HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS? 2 hours with a half-time break, normally 10-15 minutes (we need an hour before/after each event to setup & cleanup)
HOW MANY CAN WE SEAT? 40 max (minimum fees apply, view pricing below for details)
FOOD: we can provide it (additional cost applies) or your group can self-cater (more info below)
DRINKS: we have an in-studio bar with a range of alcoholic, low-alcoholic & non-alcoholic options for purchase (no BYO allowed, more info below)

Exciting and creative event in Christchurch (1st -and BEST- in NZ!)
step by step painting instructions of the featured painting led by one of our artists
all materials to complete the painting – acrylic paint on canvas, etc
party photos taken throughout the session and posted on our Facebook page
heaps of fun exploring your artsy side
each person takes home his/her one-of-kind artwork (unless it's a mural)
best of all, we clean up!

What to paint:

ONE FEATURED PAINTING: choose a 2 hour painting from our monthly calendar or click this link
THE BRIDE: We can paint the bride 'Picasso style' or paint photos of the bride from a series of photographs at different times in life (pre-sketch fee applies for photos of the bride)
THE NUDE DUDE: don't get too excited... there won't be any actual 'nude' humans in studio, just on the canvas (unless you want to host a Life Drawing Hen's Do session! Then there *will* be a nude dude! Additional fee applies, contact us for pricing.)
LIFE DRAWING with Nude(or Semi-Nude) Male Model: Have a LIVE MALE MODEL pose for your session! Additional model fee applies. For groups of 18 or fewer we recommend Life Drawing with lots of different poses and activities. For groups of 19+ we guide you through Life Painting. Model is booked to pose for 1 hour of your 2 hour private event, with extra time for games, food, dancing and FUN! *We book our quality models via Bare Butlers https://barebutlers.co.nz/

Things to know:

Once you have read all of the information on this page and are ready to book your event, get in touch through the form below and we will send through an invoice for the deposit
Once we receive your deposit we will add your event to our calendar
We will contact you a few days before the event to confirm numbers, a featured painting and if your group would like nibbles included for the event
Advise all guests to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event time, so they can grab a drink, an apron & get settled in before we start painting at the scheduled event time, we will still need to stick to our 2 hour timeframe even if your group arrives late as we may have another event after yours
Plan for your completed paintings to be taken home with you after the session, unless arranged to store at the studio prior to the event

Pricing (includes GST):

all pricing options listed below are based on a 2 hour acrylic on canvas painting event.
NOTE: if your group has someone who does not want to paint but wants to join the party, they will still need to be included in the final numbers and payment for their seat is required.
We also offer an ALL INCLUSIVE package which includes nibbles and drinks. Pricing on request.

Between 10am - 5pm daily or after 5pm available on Sunday - Wednesday
(2 hour time slots can vary, contact the studio to discuss, costs exclude Friday & Saturday nights)

$680 (minimum fee) for up to 10 people or less
$60 for each additional person
$300 deposit (non-refundable) required to secure time & date
Remaining balance due before party

Thursday Events ending after 5pm
(2 hour time slots can vary, contact the studio to discuss)

the following costs apply:

$1000 (minimum fee) for up to 15 people or less
$60 for each additional person
$300 deposit (non-refundable) required to secure time & date
Remaining balance due before party
Cost excludes nibbles & drinks (view info below for costs)

Friday & Saturday Events ending after 5pm
(2 hour time slots can vary, contact the studio to discuss)

the following costs apply:

$1320 (minimum fee) for up to 20 people or less
$60 for each additional person
$300 deposit (non-refundable) required to secure time & date
Remaining balance due before party
Cost excludes nibbles & drinks (view info below for costs)

nibbles

Nibbles are excluded in the minimum fee costs above, but can be provided at an additional cost of $12/person.
Nibbles consist of salami, cheeses & crackers, olives & sundried tomato mix, hummus, dips, grapes & a sweet treat
We do allow 'self-catering' which requires the supply of your own food. (No BYO drinks.)

sipping

Drinks are excluded in the above cost and can be purchased from our in-studio bar

Payment Terms

We do not issue refunds under any circumstance, only issue a studio credit to join us in the future
We require at least two weeks notice if your event has to be rescheduled.
A $100 rebooking fee will be charged for a change of date/time, subject to availability.
If a credit voucher is issued it can go towards the cost of a public painting session only and must be used within one month (not redeemable for nibbles, drinks, another private event or gift vouchers)
Gift vouchers or any discounted offer cannot be used to pay for a private event
